I love Kaito’s pediatrician.
Hers was the most reassuring voice
I heard in the theatre as I labored.
She was the first to carry the 29weeker
And has been instrumental to Kaito’s growth.
Listening to our panicked first baby concerns
With practiced ease and a calming patience.
She’d disarm each worry with worrying clarity.
My favourite was when we took Kaito in,
He was a year old with nary a tooth in sight
She looked through his files, checked him out,
Turned to us and casually, yet curiously, asked,
“Have you ever seen an adult without teeth?
Do not worry, give things time.”
Valentine’s Day is interesting.
Great fun but also anxiety-inducing for some.
At my first job, one of my bosses was a weirdo.
If I got nothing delivered at work on Valentine’s
There’d be mockery for being single.
If I got something at work on Valentine’s
There’d be mockery for not being married🤦🏽♀️
If the day was weird/lonely/stressful or sad,
Here’s a friendly reminder:
“Do not worry. Give things time.”
There’s always room to be surprised
