We are living witnesses
To an incomparable time in the world’s history.
It has called the best out of our race:
Human beings have shown illogical kindness,
Stories from @upworthy bolster my faith in us.
But, it’s also shown the worst of us, in us.
The racism, the selfishness and greed
Hiding behind masks of self-preservation.
I’ve been traveling the last few weeks for work
And it’s been fascinating to watch
People around the globe react differently
To the rise of the Corona virus.
I was in a little Ethiopian village on Tuesday,
Where refugees struggle to find the basics,
When asked about the virus’ spread,
With big smiles and small shrugs,
They simply said
“We have bigger problems.” •
In this time of panic
Perspective is everything.
