But I already knew it, I went to school there and never have I felt blacker than in America, this is after living for years and years in Europe

Me: The thing with Europe particularly England is it is more classist/elitist than racist.
Having a mixed bunch of friends without anyone making comments about you being the token negro etc was common place but in America honestly a lot of black people have black friends and white people have white friends and one group seems to be largely suspicious of the other. Race is a lot more of an open issue there
In England it really isn’t. Even when I lived in America, my closest friends were Europeans

Me: I was always conscious in America about doing things like raising my voice when I was upset (e.g restaurant serves the wrong thing), because for some reason a lot of white people seem to read things like that as aggression/ Angry Black Woman/Black Woman with Attitude…And I was not trying to catch a police case from the wrong plate at dinner

Me: Yeah, I honestly think that’s one reason there are so many black killings. A lot of the time it’s just a black person being normal in the sense that the way many black people talk is usually more expressive but for some reason some white people read that as confrontational, I’ve seen it happen.
