I was scrolling through my pictures and found something that gave me pause.

I often store quotes I like from the bible in my phone as pictures, I just screen grab.

So I was looking through my photos today and I saw this picture that’s really food for thought:

“Fathers can give their sons an inheritance of houses and wealth,
but only the Lord can give an understanding wife.”-Proverbs 19:!4

How interesting that the bible equates the position of a wife with wealth and an inheritance? Getting married is a huge responsibility and something we shouldn’t take lightly. It’s so funny, the older I get the less interested I am in a fancy wedding. I feel like on my wedding day I might just be eager to get past the festivities and start this new phase; we get very easily distracted with all of the planning and preparing for weddings that we often forget the big responsibility placed on us to be partners, dream weavers, midwives assisting in the birthing of someone else’s destiny be it our spouses’ or our children’s.

It is not a small thing for God to consider you comparable to wealth and an inheritance of houses. Ladies, to whom much is given, much is expected.
