My morning began with a message from a good friend with the words, “I just came across this email you sent me ages ago after that horrid break up. We had just finished chatting on Skype and I’d been crying and you wrote me after we spoke and said, “…it is NOT you, it IS him. There is NOTHING wrong with you; you are an incredibly beautiful woman inside and out, it was and always and forever will be his loss”…and then sent me the lyrics to Beverly Knight’s song, ‘Gold’.

Thank you.”

And just like that, today was excellent.

Beverly Knight is maniacally underrated. She is a great songwriter not to even begin to speak of her vocal depth. I love the song ‘Gold’ because it has so much truth, not just for women and not just for after a break up.

We matter.
We are worthy.
We are precious.
Simply because we are human.

Circumstances do not change this simple fact. Neither can opinions nor the actions of others.
