This is one of my favourite songs of all time, ‘Wrap Me in Your Arms.’- William McDowell. Mr. McDowell is the king of worship leaders, I promise. I’ll tell you why I like his songs. More than most worship leaders I listen to, this man focuses on the real message of Christianity; ‘IT IS NOT ABOUT YOU!!’

“Break my heart for the things that break Yours.”
“Give us Your heart; for the wounded and the dying, the widows and the orphans…we hear your children crying.”
“Don’t spend all your faith on YOU…that’s low level faith.”
“Fill us up…then send us out.”
(These are from different William McDowell songs, easily accessible on Youtube and/or iTunes).

I needed this song (Wrap Me in Your Arms) today. I know people say they hear God all the time, but I really think the way God speaks to me is by showing me stuff. He clearly knows that I have a tendency to doubt and so hearing won’t not be enough for his resident Nigerian billy goat. Lol.

I was feeling out of sorts today and listening to my random mix of songs on Youtube while working and stumbled across a version of this song, ‘Wrap Me in Your Arms’ that I’d never listened to before. Which is really strange because I know I’ve listened to that song on Youtube A LOT.

Anyway, this version begins with the singer just talking. He says, “There’s nothing that happens in your world that catches Him by surprise. He sees every tear. Every night up worrying. Pacing the floor. Some of you just want Him. “SHOW ME THAT YOU’RE REAL! I NEED YOU!”

I was like, “How you take know?!”

“God! that you boo!?” Lol

When I lost a sister, the only statement that filtered through the haze of pain was one uttered by a stranger at the time. She held my hand and said,

“Nothing surprises God.”

The fact that the singer in that version of the song said today reiterated those words just renewed my confidence and trust.

“Nothing Surprises God.”
