Anita

sistah

The chorus of this song came to my mind today while talking to my second sister, Anita. She had one small project to present today, at my church where she came visiting no less. When she showed me what she had done, I had to scream “Sister! You are officially doing THE most! Killing ’em!” LOL! Most people hardly give more than they are required to for their work projects, how much more (or less!) church projects?! The hell?!

People often think that I am a chronic over-achiever…and then they meet Anita, and they understand that I am in fact lazy! Haha! I am very proud of my sister; not just of the rewards of her labour, but of her efforts in themselves. She ascribes to the ‘The-Sky-Is-No-Limit-When-Footprints-Are-On-The-Moon’ theory. The swiftness of her mind, the process in her actions, her unrelenting dedication to her focus; the woman has a bottomless pit of strength to fuel her hard work, ambition and work ethic!

Anita is one person whose successes can only inspire praise, because they are clearly well deserved rewards for persistence and effort. Anita is not a half-giver. She is the poster child for ‘Go Big or Go Home’. She is very like my mum in that they only operate at maximum; they give 100% or nothing at all. E.V.E.R.Y.T.I.M.E. In addition my sister somehow balances an insatiable curiosity to find more, to do more, to contribute to anything. The woman is an endless tank of giving. And I think this is why God is never hesitant in rewarding her with continuous success.

Sometimes, I wonder if I saw this person inside her 4 year old form that would follow me around the house after nursery school, weaving tales of friends (imaginary and real), playground bullies and bullied (disturbingly real) and enemies (largely imaginary).

I am proud of her the way many ‘big’ sisters are…far away from her face. Lol.

To Anita…and not because she told me I compliment everyone BUT her.
