I can’t believe Mattel makes bald Barbies! So incredibly and terribly sweet, considering the number of little girls battling with cancer daily. They have too much to deal with, to have anyone or anything suggesting that they are not beautiful or are in any way different. *Raises champagne flute to Mattel*, amazing, amazing work!

The one (that may or may not be an untruth) episode of Oprah I have cried for, is one where a 6 year old had cancer and had to shave her head, and her entire class insisted on shaving their heads along with her…to their parent’s shock. Still makes me teary till this day. So incredibly sweet.

Praying for all the women battling cancer today. I guess sometimes, it is in confronting illnesses that we truly understand the nature of beauty. More than being in the eye of the beholder, true beauty MUST exude from the inside. It cannot possibly be contained in our hair or our weight or the clothes we wear. If that is the case, does it mean that who we are when these things are torn from us is not beautiful? I disagree.

Women who fight this battle with sickness everyday with a grace of spirit and strength of mind, they are real beauties.
